As the nights draw in and the wheel turns towards the darker half of the year, we arrive at Samhain (pronounced Sow-in), a time of stillness, remembrance and quiet reflection.

The final harvest has been gathered and the earth begins to withdraw her energy towards her roots, inviting us to turn inward too. It is a liminal time, when the veil between the living and those who have passed is said to grow thin, offering us a moment to honour those who came before us and to listen a little more closely to what lies beneath the surface.

Samhain invites us to honour this turning, to pause at the threshold between what has been and what is yet to come, and to consider what we are ready to leave behind, what deserves to be remembered, and what we wish to carry with us into the season ahead.

She Turns is an afternoon held in this spirit, bringing together ceremonial cacao, guided journeying, seasonal ritual and sound healing. A chance to slow down, gather and experience the deeper, quieter energy of the season together.

What you can expect

We’ll gather around ceremonial cacao, a sacred plant ally traditionally used to support connection, presence and heart-opening, allowing the warmth of the cacao to help us arrive together.

From there, the afternoon will deepen through guided journeying, inviting you beyond the everyday mind and into a more intuitive and symbolic space. We’ll honour Samhain through seasonal ritual, connecting with the themes of remembrance, ancestry and the turning of the wheel, before coming into stillness with a deeply restorative sound healing.

Woven throughout is the experience of gathering together, sharing, listening, reflecting and moving through this threshold of the year in circle.

What to bring

If there’s something you’d like to add to our seasonal altar, you’re welcome to bring it along. Perhaps a photograph of an acestor, a meaningful object, something gathered from nature, or something that feels connected to this season.

For the sound journey, you might like to bring anything that helps you settle into comfort, a blanket, cushion or extra layer. A journal and pen can be lovely to have nearby too, along with some water for the afternoon.

With space for just 12 women, She Turns is intentionally held as an intimate gathering, a small circle to share this turning of the year together.
